In AYA’S “Mushroom Project” students learn how to clone; grow mycelium from petri dishes, plant and harvest various types of mushrooms in a laboratory setting using sterilized methods. Students may be able to earn a science credit for their participation in this classroom project.
Currently we grow our mushrooms and sell them throughout the community, and we are considering the option of selling “Mushroom kits” to schools for science projects; or for the consumer who simply wants to watch them grow, and harvest them themselves. The class may extend into the community if there is enough interest in the program
